Hanging on!

This morning Mike and I launched the dinghy and he went out to Peridot and put the anchor out.  She's safely on the mooring, but the anchor will stop her dancing about too much. I took this photo of Peridot on my way back home from the shop this afternoon, as proof that she was still safe!  The air was thick with salt and spray, hence the misty photo!

The shop was surprisingly busy, perfect weather for indoor holiday pastimes. The cagoules were dripping with rain and the windows were running with condensation!  Visitors do love the wild weather, thankfully!  Lots of cosy scarves sold too . . . !

This morning, before the weather got too bad, I cut down the sweet peas, runner beans and fennel in the back garden.  The gales would have flattened them and they would have damaged other plants as they went, so it made sense to get in there first!  Mike prepared two more ice cream tubs of beans for the deep freeze - five in total now!  I shall have to find some interesting recipes for them, they will keep us going for months!
