Truly Blippin' Marvelous

Lucky dip

when all else fails I pick a few BBC Music Magazine discs at random and play . . . Thomas Arne's Alfred 1740-1753. track six is From the dawn of early morning in Act II. Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment conducted by Nicholas Kraemer.

I don't listen to enough music  ". . . to sooth the savage breast". Now I'm at Rule, Britannia. When I was school boy I was taught that King Alfred was the father of the navy - the senior service.
