Wheels of Progress

These are the wheels that helped bring automation and progress to the hard manual slog of making hay.

Recycled now as a colourful barrier they were originally the wheels of a ‘Dickie’ Swath Turner which was pulled by horses and later by tractors

Built by William Dickie, Agricultural Engineers of East Kilbride. The company was established in 1888 and continued until 1973.
