Cabbage white

Went up to the allotment, removed a bean tepee that had been trashed by Ali, and did quite a bit of tidying up. A brown butterfly flitted past that may have been a comma, but it didn't stay around - I was only able to get a portrait of a rather faded large white, Pieris brassicae. The clue as to its caterpillar's food plant is in the Latin name.

In the afternoon I got a spam call on the landline from Scottish Power, so when the phone went again 20 min later I answered quite brusquely. An unexpected call from a friend who's a blip lurker and had some helpful advice on baking sourdough bread, having seen some of my recent experiments. Apart from the very welcome advice it was lovely to have a chat!
