Natural assets

Part of the character of the town of Romsey is to be found in the waterways which run through and beneath the town centre.

The major river, the Test, runs to the west of the town, but there are a number of courses which run through the town itself, and in places beneath the town centre.

So I am encouraged to hear that town authorities have plans to bring improvements to many of them, like Abbey Water here. Too many are overgrown, and general tidying and clearing would markedly enhance one of the town’s natural beauties as well as bring environmental improvements to the town’s natural assets.
