Spheres of delight

Somehow my planned blip got waylaid by these tang yuan that son Huw made for dessert after the Chinese potsticker dumplings with vegetable sides of greens and peppers that he conjured up in a burst of smoke and steam this evening.

Soup spheres or sweet glutinous rice balls contain a kernel of a paste formed (in this case) from ground sesame seeds, medjool dates, sugar and coconut oil, enclosed in a soft cushion of gelatinous rice flour dough. (They were simple to make he said.)

Mere mortals, we supped on ambrosia!
