Nature Diary... Little Jewels of Colour

The weather for this time of year has been simply wonderful and this morning we were blessed with a much needed drenching of rain which the plants enjoyed I'm sure. After the rain the sun shone brilliantly during the afternoon from a wonderful blue sky across which floated fluffy white clouds but, sheltered though I was, strong gusts of wind continued to batter anything in their path causing, no doubt, serious damage in less sheltered places. Sheltered from the wind our back garden looked like a scene from mid-summer bringing joy and hope that despite this being the Autumnal Equinox, meaning the first day of Autumn has now officially arrived, perhaps the few little flowers which survived the long hot, dry summer and have managed to continue to bloom will manage to do so for just a little while longer.
