Christmas is coming ...

This appeared in the foyer of our office building over the weekend. I guess they're trying to warn me that Christmas is getting close. It does always seem to sneak up on me ...
Christmas in Australia is, of course, right in the middle of our summer, which involves hot and often humid days, and nights. Yet those of us of Anglo heritage often still persist with the traditional Christmas foods -- turkey, ham, plum pudding and rich fruit cake. Christmas has always been that way, so that's the way I do it! Some Aussies are now changing things, with cold seafood and salads, but to me, it's just not the same.
