Autumn Equinox

Today marks the official start of Autumn, in our part of the world (at 02.54 am to be precise) and the day began with heavy rain.  Actually it has been raining since yesterday afternoon and is very welcome.  The lawn  is beginning to look lush once more and the plants refreshed, but I'm afraid that we'll need an awful to more to stop St John's pond, at the top of our road from disappearing completely!
We had no walk this morning, due to the weather, so I spent most of it attending to work of the paid variety, which has got a bit behind recently.  By mid afternoon the sun was shining and the sky blue, so I popped into the garden for these shots.  The leaves are just beginning to turn but every one of our roses is either in bloom or full of buds.
