A bit of intrigue !!

The Repingtons were well know in Tamworth ever since the middle of the 16th century. Originally from Lincolnshire the family settled in Amington. The pub, built in 1828. was formally known as the Repington Arms.
So the story goes, in the late 19th century one of Repingington's returned home only to find his butler up to no good. It was reported that the butler was dispatched from this mortal coil immediately !!
