My tefelone said the journey ...

... would take an hour and a half. My satnav said 2 hours (which does not explain why it said 1 hour 45 minutes on the way back ... ). It took nearly two and a half hours!! The reasons for this being - a car on the road from the Holm to Hawick that refused to go above 35 mph and did not allow anyone to overtake; a feed wagon from Hawick to Selkirk; a Dutch car that pulled out on me on the back road from Selkirk to the Peebles road and then drove VERY steadily; and finally roadworks by Cardrona that kept us waiting for ten minutes!!!
Luckily Dawyck was delightful and the company of my friends excellent :-)
