Thanks to the dentist

I had an appointment with the dentist this morning. As I was parking I noticed an insect on an alder branch that was brushing against the car window. I risked being slightly late a spent a little time getting this shot - not ideal as the sunlight was so harsh. It turns out to be the true bug (Hemiptera) Pantilius tunicatus, a species I've not seen before. This supports my theory that the best insects show up when you are not looking for them.
