Newcastle Upon Tyne - backblip

This is an image I photographed in October 2005 while studying in Newcastle Upon Tyne. It's of the Central Motorway, a 1.1 mile stretch of snaking concrete brutality. Half of it is double deck it then thunders down to the Tyne Bridge locked in a trench. As I found out through various projects an awful lot was destroyed to make way for this modernist vision fragment.

Reason I blipped... I am including in a presentation of my highway photography for a wee talk called... A CONCRETE LOVE AFFAIR!!
