The Footpath

We went to Hidcote Manor Gardens this afternoon.  After coffee we had a wander round the gardens, beginning to look like autumn in parts, though I was surprised to see a group of crocuses flowering by a hedge.

Close by the gardens is a hamlet, presumably Hidcote, which boasts a duck pond, a well and free range chickens who seem to have the run of the place.  It's all very idyllic with the thatched roofs and cottage gardens. At the end of the properties is a farm and a field leading off. This runs at the back of Hidcote Gardens.  The field had been plowed in readiness for next year's crop but the public footpath that runs through is very clear. Incidentally, it does carry on beyond the single tree!
