The Cobra Knot

Carrying on from my Cloud Appreciation series, which I started on Monday with an iceberg cloud appearing over Knutsford Heath, here is my contribution today, taken over Tatton Park.

I couldn't work out what it reminded me of most: a DNA double helix spiral; an Aran cable stitch knitting pattern; the eight-strand plaited loaf from The Great British Bake Off cookery show on BBC2; or (my favourite) the intricate Cobra Knot (aka the Solomon Bar or the Portuguese Sinnet).
