Abstract Thursday: A Journey Made Alone

Lone Fir Cemetery in SE Portland is Portland oldest continuously used cemetery and is listed by National Geographic as one of the top ten cemeteries in the world to visit. It is also the city's second largest defacto arboretum, with 700 trees representing 67 species.

This large gravestone is one of the more unique stones, showing a young man with canoe, wearing a quiver and holding a bow. Several words are engraved around his image, including "Heinz 57", "Woh", "Genuine". I wonder what the story is behind this loving tribute to this young person.
