What a day!!!

Happy Birthday Richard! And thank you to all the lovely staff on Grand Central Trains who made our journey (with Richard in his wheelchair) so easy and so delightful! Especially to the man behind the bar who persuaded me that it made far more sense to buy a whole bottle of Pinot Grigio for £10 rather than two of those tiny ones for £3.50 each to go with the delicious picnic lunch I had made! Richard is now confident that he can travel to London on the train any time on his own - that really is a result!

The Bronze exhibition at the Royal Academy is remarkable - I can't quite believe that we were looking at the most exquisite bronzes that are about 3500 years old!
We topped it all off with a delicious dinner with Mop and Philip then back on the train home - a very long and very happy day!

And I have just seen the news and heard that there is a ceasefire in Gaza/Israel.... I truly hope that it lasts and that this is the beginning of big changes in the whole terrible situation and peace in the middle east.
