Fox Moth

Early morning walk up to Blackcap and on into the hidden valley of Ashcombe Bottom where a surprising number of butterflies were flying: Clouded Yellow, Painted Lady, Red Admiral, Small Heath, Small copper, Speckled Wood, Small White, Brimstone. I was tempted to photograph them but having taken over 600 butterfly images this year I'm trying to resist. Instead here's the wonderfully hairy, colourful and quite large, caterpillar of the Fox Moth.
