Drumstick beans....

So called because they look like drumsticks!

They take a bit of preparation. You have to scrape the outside and get rid of as many stringy bits as you can, and then chop. Boil in salt and turmeric for ten minutes before you make into a curry with coconut milk (see extra). You cut the pieces in half, and just eat the inside. They taste a bit like asparagus. A real labour of love. We had them with chicken curry, pineapple curry and dahl. Delicious. Memories of Sri Lanka.
