Wedding day

A couple who choose the end of September for an outdoor wedding must be the archetypal optimists! But the wedding of our nephew Rupert and his bride Lucy took place on a gloriously warm sunny day! They made their vows under an oak tree with almost 200 friends and family present. (Well, we didn't think everyone would say yes, said Rupert!). After the ceremony we stood in the warm sunshine, chatting and taking photos. Drink flowed, lots of rum because of Rupert's connection with Barbados. West Indan music accompanied us, simply relayed, see extra. Eventually we went into a huge marquee for a simple meal and fun speeches.
As the sun went down it got cold, even in the marquee. N and I lasted until about 8.30, but then left them partying, apparently until midnight. It was an unusual informal wedding, a giant party, and great fun.
