Custodians

Got a lift out to Hawes Pier with Arclight and Sgt Pepper, who had been keen to make a visit to D on Inchcolm - and since this turned out to be the last day it would be open this year, at very short notice, they made hasty adjustments to their busy schedule. We did the tour of the abbey including the spiral staircase up to the top of the tower (from where we spotted D and his colleague trotting ambling down the path) and also a brief excursion out to the Inchcolm Minor Light at the east end of the island.

The next arrival of the Maid of the Forth brought more friends who had just managed to catch D's last day - so instead of going back with J & A I stayed on to spend some time with them. Did the tour of the abbey again ( see extra for S sitting in the abbot's seat in the Chapter House) and this time went up through the WWI tunnel before visiting the minor light again. Hmm, in spite of spending almost the whole day there I never did make it to the far west end of the island - maybe next season.

There was a beautiful rainbow over Fife around midday - belying the way the wind later got up quite fiercely and made for quite an exciting journey back to Hawes Pier.
