The Big Dig - Zihuatanejo

For the past week, work crews have been in the street outside our condo complex working on a sewer issue, but they are finally getting serious. Two days of constant backhoe work has created a huge, deep hole across most of the roadway to the beach. Of course, being Mexico there is a ton of handwork as well and as many as a dozen guys are in and around this smelly pit during the day. Too shy to pull out my camera during work hours, I wait until things shut down before venturing past the caution tape (as do others in the neighborhood) to see what is going on. New pipes are being installed and I am sure the mounds of dirt surrounding the hole will soon be back under fresh asphalt.
