By the Rhone - again

The number of times over the years that we have negotiated our way through Lyon, in lines of fast traffic, scared that one false turn could lead to being hopelessly lost and ending up in Paris or something. It got heaps better when the autoroute system got sorted and helped to take traffic away from the centre. It obviously got much better when we had Sat Navs in the car. But just look at this - in the new car you get a picture on the screen and on the dashboard - just at the point when a fatal wrong choice could be made - no chance with this when you are not just told . . . but shown!! A bit like a video game.

We are meandering our way northward and found ourselves in Burgundy and in Tournus, a lovely old town with the splendid Abbey of St Philibert (in extra). We are now in Chardonnay - yes there is such a place. And in a rather wonderful old house in the village.
