A SET OF SIX SELF-PORTRAITS, 1967, Andy Warhol.

The picture is one of a series of 11 large-scale paintings produced by Warhol in 1967. Five of the paintings are on permanent exhibition at The Tate Gallery in London, The Staatsgalerie Moderne Kunst in Munich, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art with two at the Detroit Institute for Arts.

'1967 self-portrait' features Warhol in an iconic pose, with his hand to his mouth. Warhol first used this image in 1966 when he painted life sized images. In 1967 he produced the series of 11 larger portraits.

Eight of these portraits were included in Warhol's retrospective exhibition at MOMA in 1989.

Six were exhibited in the American Pavilion at the International and Universal Exposition in Montreal in 1967.
