Happy anniversary to us!

One year ago today we got married!
We had a full day of eating planned to celebrate...on went the elasticated waist and up we went to the 23rd floor of the Waldorf Astoria. Amazing views, beautiful food. We had afternoon tea consisting of chicken curry in a cone, egg mayo stuffed in a tiny croissant, ham sandwich, dainty little moussey cakes, warm scones with pineapple jam and cream, all served on gorgeous Wedgewood crockery. We had massive pots of tea.

We spent a couple of hours by the pool and then headed back out to Gordon Ramsay's steak restaurant at Paris. It was one of these posh places that rolled out a wheel of beef at the start so you could see what you're ordering. Some of the cuts were enormous and would have made Fred Flintstone proud. I like my meat properly cooked (no pink!) so we had to work around that. I had the British Ale and Onion Soup for starters followed by braised short rib beef, sprouts and a massive baked potato. It was lush but we couldn't finish it! Yesska had lobster and Beef Wellington and it even surpassed her favourite steak at San Carlo.

We mooched back to the hotel via the Miracle Mile shops and before we knew it, it was ten past ten and we were getting a tattoo! We've talked about it for ages so we just bit the bullet and cracked on. To celebrate our anniversary we both got a playing card-inspired design - I had the 4 of hearts and Yesska the 2 of hearts. Hearts for love, the numbers are our respective favourites and the card link represents our paper anniversary.
