Chicory (Cichorium intybus)

A common weed, Chicory flowers from mid Summer to early Autumn. All parts of it are edible and nutritious, albeit bitter. It’s most commonly known as a coffee substitute which is made from the root.

Today was filled with errands and preparation for this evening’s night navigation practice for the scouts, as they have a district night hike competition on Saturday. This evening went very well, some of the older ones finally showing a little more maturity and skill. Awesome.
