Seen from the top floor of St Andrews House the striking design of the Scottish Parliament draws the eye , and shows off its magnificent setting under Salisbury Crags .

There was much controversy over the site which appeared to have been foisted on the country and for most people was the least favoured option . But , despite that inauspicious start, it came good .
