Lacock (Thursday 4th October 2018)

That Michelle Dockery out of Downton was here at Lacock last week along with a film crew and lots of vintage cars, horses and a military parade, all making Downton Abbey: The Movie. You couldn't get near it for hordes with smartphones, of course, but apparently the decorated streets and some of the props were there for longer, but all traces were gone when I passed through today.

This oak tree is in the field in front of Lacock Abbey and was looking rather splendid with all the autumn hues around it.

In the grounds I found a tree that looked a bit like a laburnum but had a fruit on it that I didn't associate with it (see Extra).

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Janis Joplin - My Baby (recorded 24 September 1970, Hollywood CA)
Janis Joplin (19 January 1943, Port Arthur TX - 4 October 1970, Los Angeles CA)
Janis Joplin must have been a fan of Garnett Mimms and the Enchanters as she recorded several songs they had recorded, or possibly it was Jerry Ragovoy she admired, as he wrote them. My Baby is one such, from her final album Pearl, released posthumously. He also wrote Piece Of My Heart for Erma Franklin and Stay With Me (Baby) for Lorraine Ellison, both of which she also covered to good effect.
