Life is like a river

Stripping for a good cause?

Yes, those lovely ladies you see here on stage will soon be stripping for live theatre audience. The next play at Freyvangsleikhúsið will be "Calendar Girls", the famous British story by Tim Firth. I'll be in the role of Lady Cravenshire, so I don't have to worry about being naked on stage... but I will be photographed along with the other women for a calendar that's being made for the production.
That'll be something! At least an...ahem...interesting experience, right?!

The first "reading-through-the-play-with-some-props" was tonight and after a good break during Desember we'll start rehearsing on January 3rd and the premiere will be February 1st 2013.
The film from 2003 has been a favourite of mine for a long time so I'm very happy to be participating - and as an added bonus my husband was the main influence in getting the amateur rights for Freyvangsleikhúsið and his brother, Davíð Þór Jónsson, translated the play. So it kinda runs in the family ;)
