Aldeburgh, Suffolk

Today we drove down to Suffolk to see my old college friend Sue although we are not staying with her as she still teaches full time . Instead we have found a very pleasant studio very well equipped on a farm nr Saxmundham where my friend lives.
The journey is always tricky from Dorset as it involves not only the notorious A303 but a half circuit of the M25 and then a long stretch on the A12 with all its lorries heading to the ports.
However, once you arrive in the Suffolk Coastal Area all is worthwhile .
I’d forgotten how charming the architecture is in Aldeburgh along with the numerous fish smoke ties on the beach .
We finished the day with some of the best fish and chips in the country supported by many celebs including Ed Shehran . Why do they always taste better by the beach ?
