today is the first (and maybe decisive) round of Brazilian presidential elections and queue in front and around Brazilian embassy was snakelike miles long. that more than highly charged and loud emotional exchanges between supporters and opponents of probable winner rightwing Brazilian Trump clone, showed how  passionate brazilians are regarding this elections. but it raises another question; assuming that brazilian tourists and students  are minority among thousand of people waiting to cast their vote, why do someone who lives and works thousand miles from their homeland in which they don't pay tax and share daily life struggles with their compatriots still wants to influence destiny of those same compatriots.
