Stroud's Annual Canal Raft Race

After dropping Kim and Mari at the station so they could go to London, Helena and I went to the nearby canal to catch the end of Stroud's Annual Canal Raft Race. This event was resurrected about three years ago once this part of the canal had been regenerated and water had returned to the cut.

This boat was on the last part of the return leg and their end was in sight, literally rather than metaphorically. It is always fun to see the various teams in their makeshift rafts making fools of themselves in aid of charity. This crew were the third from last to finish.

In the background is the old canal-side warehouse which was recently set on fire by vandals. I blipped it last month to show the damage, for the record.
