A view over Lanciano, Abruzzo

After along day travelling yesterday, we had a quiet day exploring parts of the town where we are staying. Learned about the 1943, 6th October rising against the Germans. Just missed the 75th Anniversary celebrations over the weekend but the memorial to the martyrs is still adorned with wreaths and ribbons in Italian and local colours.
