Early start

It was going to be an early start anyhow as it was Ruby’s first day of work and she has to get the 7.15am bus. But last night the oil boiler packed in so we had to set a very early alarm and put the immersion heater on so there was enough hot water for a shower.

Then I took Ruby off to the bus stop and grabbed a blip.

After that it was a day of work and listening to the pug shouting at the boiler engineer who spent around four hours here, handing over to the joiner who put the blinds up in the en-suite meaning my ablutions can be done more modestly.

I also made a butternut squash and sweet potato soup which went down well - which is good as Ruby will also be taking it into work tomorrow.

It was also my Dad’s birthday today so had a brief chat on the phone this morning.
