Dolly and Kiki Van Gogh

Kiki's surgery went really well, she's recovering nicely and she should be her usual cheeky self by tomorrow!

Ingeborg managed to remove her ear with no complications, she had to take it back slightly further as she noticed another 'tiny' black patch that may have been a melanoma, so best to remove it! Dissected down to the lymph node to remove it, unfortunately she discovered this was black in colour suggesting melanoma, this was not what we'd hoped! She managed to remove it and it's being sent for histology to confirm! She had a dental whilst she was out too, all tidied up! The CT showed that in addition to the abscess we knew about she has a second smaller one on the opposite side! This has never caused any issues as she's been on her injection for the first one, thank goodness! She also lost two teeth around the original abscess at some point, but we never noticed as the vet can't check those unless she's anesthetised! We had hoped to keep her in the big carrier overnight, but as you'll see in the extra, she didn't like that so Hubert is in there now, poor boy! All in all it seems to have gone as well as we hoped, she's my we miracle bun!

Pictures in extras, a few of her interesting skin markings that we didn't know were under her fur! The one on the base of her ear looks like a heart to me, it makes me happy!

The name Kiki Van Gogh is courtesy of my brother in law Matt, seems very fitting!

Edited to add, thank you to everyone who's asked about her or wished her luck, it really does mean so much to me! xx
