Garden Ornamentation

There are some gardens in Wiesbaden where they've gone overboard with the garden gnomes (der Gartenzwerg is the singular in German).  But this garden near us has nothing that ordinary - the table with the cake I blipped a couple of years ago.

I'm not sure what this ornament is meant to represent though.  I'd be delighted to read your suggestions.

Back at my therapist this afternoon.  Oh my.  When you dig up your past, you rediscover a lot of horrors.  It's early days though.  Which brings a quote* to mind "Work as if you live in the early days of a better nation".  That sounds a lot like what we're doing.

Things will get better.  I'm pretty sure of that.

*quoting things in the internet age is dangerous.  I've seen things attributed to both Mark Twain & Otto von Bismarck, which strikes me as unlikely.  I thought this quote came from the Scottish author Alasdair Gray, apparently it doesn't and the further I try to research it, the more rabbit holes appear.
