It's Grim Up North

The key requirement for people with shoulder injuries is a reclining chair, it seems. Of course we don't have such a weird piece of furniture, but we do have a sofa that becomes the sick bed every night.
It doesn't take long to become institutionalised, our bedroom has morphed into an alien environment. When I hobble upstairs to the loo in the night I can see a sleeping human and a snoring hound in a room I used to inhabit.
On the plus side I can listen to the radio in the night. This attracts the dog, who trots downstairs to check what the world service is offering, and curls up to listen if its to his taste.
