Tiny Bonnets

I went off searching for more fungi today at Witley Common, an area of heath and woodland managed by the National Trust.  Although renown for fungi, they were not very evident today.  I bumped into a man carrying a small box of specimens which he said he had collected for a talk he was giving that evening (I'm not too sure about the ethics of that), but he said it was still too dry for them.  Anyway, I carried on walking and manage to get some specimens for myself - these however stayed firmly in the ground!

This little clump of mycena gave be the chance to practise my focus stack technique. This is a stack of six, and at about only about 1cm high should be just right for the Tiny Tuesday challenge.
