This is a pretty poor pic, but it is the best of the bunch taken from too far away on an AyePhone...

I stuck with it because I wanted to record the event I attended tonight - First Minister Alex Salmond being interviewed by Ch4 News frontman Jon Snow - a real "battle of the giants" in news terms. The Barony Hall at University of Strathclyde was a complete sell out, and it was a really interesting affair. Lots of bonhomie, but a fair few fiesty exchanges, including questions from the audience.

The Uni is holding a similar event in a couple of weeks featuring Alastair Darling. The debate is certainly moving up several gears...
