Reprieve

It was a beautiful day, so went up to the allotment before it changed its mind. Fed the ravening hordes (they'd finally got to grips with the sunflower head full of seeds that I'd left  them) and planted some garlic. The only garlic that survived the spring was the Kyrgyzstani bulbs that a friend had sent me - but they hadn't got very big, so instead of eating them I saved them to have another go next year. The weather was so good that I noticed a couple of dandelions in flower; I was about to decapitate them when a hoverfly landed on one of them, so it got a reprieve.
