In the footprints of El Lawrence

We were in El Lawrence country today at Qasr al-asraq a second century Roman Fort. T. E. Lawrence used it as his base in the winter of 1917-18, staying in the room at the top of the entrance tower. He wrote, that as “the rain came in through the roof and the men shivered, past and present flowed over us like an unedifying river.”
