Feelgood Friday

Day 3 of Liverpool Mental Health Festival started uncomfortably early but I made it into town in time to appear on the Radio Merseyside breakfast show, to promote Feelgood Friday which happened all day at the Bluecoat arts centre.

It was another superb day of free entertainment, workshops, taster-sessions, information, advice and signposting to sources of support. There were opportunities to participate in song, dance, drama, drumming, art, yoga, capoeira, relaxation, street theatre, a baby book club, an open studio and magic for beginners. There was the chance to have a caricature of yourself created as you listened to music from great acts including Nick Ellis, Thom Morecroft, Vocality, the Strumbrellas and the fabulous ukulele sensations, the Mersey Belles. The information stalls staffed by a range of local support organisations were busy all day and the joint was definitely jumping! I even managed to sneak off for a therapeutic go on the drums with the amazing Busk With Us band!

Enormous thanks, as ever, to everyone who made it happen!

Today’s Blip is of Pearl from the Mersey Belles. If you fancy smiling and tapping your toes happily then I recommend watching this video of her and her band mate Nancy... https://youtube.com/watch?v=ufJlTfJJb4g
