YOUNG VOICES SPEAK OUT!

This anti-war mural is called "Facing Iraquis: 'Collaterial Damage'?" and was created by the members of the Greater Lansing Youth for Peace and Justice, (GLYPAJ), a group of youths grades 6-12, who are improving the world through social action and education. This is an expression of opposition to the U.S. going to war against Iraq.

The large 8'x12' mural is currently displayed at the Swords into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery in Detroit, and shows life-size silhouettes of 8 Iraqi people against a backdrop of news articles about Iraq. The faces are created w/paper mache molds of the youth's own faces, and are covered in newsprint, which represents the media coverage of the war.
