Dad's army

My Dad had a medical emergency in the week but he is now much improved.
He was regaling me with tales from his army days this morning.  I've heard it all a million times before but I let him drone on.  
He can describe  in detail a load of army capers from nearly 70 years ago but couldn't remember the names of my mother, or stepmother.   
Such is life.
