Wound up in Wexford

Nerines

We planted a good number of nerine bulbs early last year.  Last autumn, only one or two actually flowered, and we were rather disappointed, but were reassured by reading about them that they often take a year or two to settle in.

This year, we have now six flowering, and two more in bud.  There are still a lot of bulbs that have sent up foliage, but show no signs of flowering, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for an even better show next year.  I look forward to a time when they make a splendid showing against the wall of the oak terrace in the autumn, when everything else is dying back.
