Inside looking out

Al Rayah mall is quiet and quite small with nice cafes. It did have a nice chocolate shop too but I think it’s closed. I needed to get out of my apartment and walk a bit but it’s too hot and humid to be outside.

I spent almost two hours there, more than enough. I liked this view; the old, the new and the Islamic architecture.

On the way in to the city centre, which is full of amazing modern buildings, my (Yemeni) driver suggested the National Bank building shouldn’t be the biggest... just that bit more topical given the Saudi government’s involvement in the war in Yemen and their higher media profile at the moment.
