Little Ireland

The original name for this pub, built in the 1820's was Tulloghgorum Vaults. The area was once the home of several thousand immigrant Irish workers till the 1840's. Friedrich Engels called this a "horrid little slum" and Little Ireland of Manchester became a euphemism around the industrial world for the worst kind of Irish slum. Looks a good ale house now!
