The Southall Tree

This tree is in the churchyard of the church where the funeral was. The tree has great significance and can tell its own story. It was planted in memory of Nora, Simon's mum and her ashes put underneath. Simon and Gavin had to sneak in one night and put their dad's ashes underneath. When Henry got married at the church I took some of Simon's ashes down and Gavin and I scattered them underneath the tree with Tom, George and Matt + partners watching. Today was Gavin's funeral at the same church. I took three roses from Simon's rose bush to put under the tree. It felt right. It was a lovely service. That's the end of ties to the area. Am really tired after driving there and back to the Midlands and the emotion of the day.
