Octopus Stinkhorn

This is the first Octopus Stinkhorn that I've found in perfect condition this season. They are both rare and delicate so finding an intact one is always special. The "arms" are hollow and very fragile, they break off in anything more than a slight breeze and rain reduces them to a blobby mess in minutes. Its really the spaniel that finds them, the smell resembles rotting meat and he picks it up well before me. The only problem then is stopping him from rolling on it.
