Orange Hawkweed Seedhead!

Carrying on yesterday's theme of seedhead here is a similar one to the Dandelion. Hawkweed (Pilosella auraniaca) is a relation of the Dandelion only smaller  -  see the U.K. onepence coin for comparison.  Its popular name ‘Fox-and-Cubs’ is said to describe the way its unopened flower-heads hide beneath the opened ones. I've blipped it many times - see HERE!  So have lots of blippers (just enter 'Hawkweed' in the 'Search' space in the Blipfoto strip at the top of this page if you're interested).  This website also has some fantastic Hawkweed images.
